What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day? 

I've mentioned this one before.  When I was in junior school - ten at the oldest - I decided to take 10p out of my mum's purse and claim I'd found it on the floor of the kitchen..

'Where on the floor?'
... 'uh... under the cooker'. 

I asked if I should put it in the charity collection box that my sister had brought home from school to gather donations for, or if I should go and spend it on sweets.  I was told to put it in the box.  I don't know why I didn't just ask for 10p - my mum would have given it gladly.

I'm reminded of this because when my nieces were down one of them took it upon herself to look for the ten and twenty pences that I liberally kick around my bedroom to one day get around to picking up.  I didn't mind the first time - I gave her and her sister the 80p that she'd found, but she had to be told off shortly afterwards when she went back in to look.  It's not quite the same though - she was being cheeky, but I lied.

Oh the shame!

I have never discussed this with my mum.  I couldn't bring myself to.
