Things that aren't working today

My boiler.  So I can't wash.  And so I have to fork out loads of money to get it fixed.

My laptop.  Two key functions aren't working on it, including the icons along the bottom which won't show up, and the windows won't flick around like they usually do or even fricking minimise. 

So no, not happy so far today.  I have been putting off trying to switch on the other computer in case it's not set up properly as I fear.  Much more nonsense, and I'm going back to bed.

In fear of incurring your wrath - have you tried the old helpdesk trick of turning both the offending boiler and laptop off and back on again?

In what way is your boiler not working? Is there an option to reset it, or turn of the main power source - we found that worked with ours quite a few times.

If you need a new boiler, I can highly recommend plumbnation.co.uk who are cheap, and deliver when they say they will.

Thanks, RG. I have tried all of that on the boiler but no luck. It has been breaking steadily for the past couple of weeks and today it has stopped. We won't buy another one though, whatever happens, as we only had it installed 6 years ago! It's been nothing but rubbish, so I greatfully accept your recommendation for future.

The laptop has enjoyed being reset (I've never had to reset my Mac before) and is back to normal, thanks.

Do you have insurance cover for your boiler? It might be worth investigating.
